Warp SMS Privacy Policy
To facilitate our Warp Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) research, we use an SMS relay service to send unique, anonymized links to participants. Participation in the study is not limited to SMS; if you prefer, you may request to receive assessment links via email or another method. We prioritize your privacy through a "data-minimal" approach. You do not have to agree to receive SMS messages to participate in the study.
1. Identity Verification
When you register, we collect your email address solely to verify your invitation to the study. Once your eligibility is confirmed, your email address is permanently deleted from our registration system.
2. SMS Relay & Data Retention
Following verification, we maintain only your mobile phone number to facilitate the messaging service.
- Purpose: This number is used strictly as a relay to deliver secure links to your assessments.
- Automatic Deletion: Your phone number is automatically purged from our records immediately upon completion of your final EMA, or after 30 days if the assessments are not completed.
3. Your Control (Opt-Out)
You have full control over the messages you receive:
- Providing a mobile phone number is optional. If you do not wish to receive SMS messages, please contact the research team to arrange an alternative method of receiving assessment links. Opting out of SMS will not affect your ability to participate in the study.
- To Opt-Out: Reply STOP to any text message. We will send one final confirmation message, and your phone number will be immediately purged from our active relay system.
- For Help: Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact the research team directly.
4. Third-Party Disclosure
We do not sell, share, or use your contact information for any purpose other than providing necessary research links.
